Meet The Team

Founder and CEO of A2 Fitness Professionals and A2 Integrative Wellness, Demond Johnson, has been in the health and wellness industry for over 30 years. As a 21-year veteran of the United States Army, he has a long list of unique experiences that includes Army Master Fitness Trainer, Army Weight Control program coordinator, and Army Combative's Instructor. His love for health and wellness lead him to become a trainer on NBC's hit TV show "The Biggest Loser" for multiple seasons. Demond's calling has always been to serve others and help them along their journey, whether it's a high school athlete trying to navigate their athletic journey or someone with a disability who wants to walk again. His passion for fitness and love for people is what makes him and his company very special.

Makayla Phillips is a compassionate individual dedicated to uplifting others and fostering meaningful connections. She utilizes her experience as a high school cheer coach to guide and support her athletes into making healthy lifestyle choices. With a genuine passion for helping people thrive, she finds fulfillment in witnessing personal growth and empowerment. Through her unwavering support and guidance, she creates a positive impact in the lives of those she encounters, leaving a lasting mark of care and kindness. This remarkable individual is a beacon of light, spreading warmth and positivity wherever she goes.
MaKayla Phillips
Our Director of Community Outreach, Amanda Colwell, is an ACE certified Fitness Trainer, Fitness Therapist, Functional Training Specialist, and Yoga Instructor. She has worked with clients ranging from high school athletes, weight loss/strength training, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, M.S., and Parkinson's. In addition to serving her clients, she also dedicates her time to serving the community by initiating weekly meal donations to the local homeless population and promoting healthy lifestyle choices. With a constant effort towards improving herself and impacting the lives around her, it was no surprise when she was voted Washtenaw County's Best Trainer in 2020 and 2021.

Ahmad Samaha is a very driven individual with a heart dedicated to giving back and enriching the lives of others. As a former athlete, he possesses a deep understanding of the human body, igniting a passion to leverage this knowledge for the betterment of those around him. Ahmad's commitment to enhancing both physical and mental well-being exemplifies his holistic approach to empowerment. He holds open discussions about this and more in the podcast that he hosts. @moretoyoupodcast. Working with different individuals from varsity sports to individuals with traumatic brain injuries and on the autism spectrum. He finds true fulfillment in witnessing people thrive, knowing that he plays a pivotal role in their journey toward a higher quality of life. For him, the ultimate reward lies in the success and happiness of those he supports.
